This is a watercolor painting with analogous colors. I decided to try ‘crumpled Saran Wrap’ in creating the background.

I started this painting using watercolor pencils while riding in a car. Then I used a water brush to blend. It was pretty bland so I added watercolor later. Then I painted the background. I still didn’t like it so decided I had nothing to lose if I added collage paper and it didn’t work. I’m okay with it now, but this is probably a backwards way to work!

It’s spring in SD with Pasque (state flower) in full bloom!
Watercolor painting.

Watercolor ~ white horse – lots of color to indicate white.

I did this watercolor painting for my online weekly art group challenge. The challenge was to paint something white which requires using colors that are reflected in the white.

This is a watercolor painting I did with a little ink added for detail.

Watercolor painting of the cabin. The ice is all off the lake….but it’s still a’ little cold’ to open up the cabin! We’re ready… and surely April showers will bring lake dwellers and spring flowers…. can’t wait.

This is my colorful rendition of the prominent old sentinel found in the center of Brookings, SD ! I used watercolor with a large brush.
